This is so true I love the words of Thich Nhat Hanh. Our words have a lot of power and we need to use them wisely. One kind word to a friend, family or complete stranger can completey change their day. Have you ever been dragged down by having to do the
weekly shop when a complete stranger compliments you on your shoes?! Something like that is enough to reverse your mood and feel happier about life. The weekly shop then doesn't seem such a chore and you manage to get through all your chores for the day with ease.
Some words about Thich Nhat Hanh, nobel prize winner: "The Most Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh (Thây), our spiritual teacher, founded the Unified Buddhist Church (Eglise Bouddhique Unifieé) in France in 1969, during the Vietnam war. Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, a poet, a scholar, and a peace activist. His life long efforts to generate peace and reconciliation moved Martin Luther King, Jr. to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967. He founded the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon and the School for Youths of Social Services in Vietnam. When not travelling the world to teach “The Art of Mindful Living”, he teaches, writes, and gardens in Plum Village, France, a Buddhist monastery for monks and nuns and a mindfulness practice center for lay people."thich nhat hanh.
He truly is a remarkable man.
Thich Nhat Hanh has written a book on the subject of mindfulness. "In this beautifully written book, Buddhist monk and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh explains how to acquire the skills of mindfulness. Once we have these skills, we can slow our lives down and discover how to live in the moment - even simple acts like washing the dishes or drinking a cup of tea may be transformed into acts of meditation.
Thich Nhat Hanh's gentle anecdotes and practical exercises help us to arrive at greater self-understanding and peacefulness, whether we are beginners or advanced students. Irrespective of our particular religious beliefs, we can begin to reap the immense benefits that meditation has been scientifically proven to offer. We can all learn how to be mindful and experience the miracle of mindfulness for ourselves." Amazon mindfulness. These are the reviews of the wonderful book he has written, the Miracle of Mindfulness.
