Every month our wonderful moon goes through its phases, waning and waxing in its constant transformation from new moon to full moon and back again. Full moons occur every 29.5 days approximately as the moon moves to the side of Earth directly opposite the sun, reflecting the sun's rays off its full face and appearing as a brilliant, perfectly circular disk. When the Moon is full, there is strong gravitational pull between the Moon on one side of the earth and the Sun on the other. This type of energy can have a great effect on human beings as we are pulled in opposite directions.

Since they we been on our planet, humans have used the movement of the moon to keep track of the passing year and set schedules for hunting, planting, and harvesting. Ancient cultures the world over have given these full moons names based on the behavior of the plants, animals, or weather during that month
These different ancestors of ours gave rise to various names for the full moon in March. 

The March Full Moon is a particularly good one for carrying out any blessings or affirmations you would like to influence your life during the coming month of March

The following is a summary of the different full moons for March. Perhaps you would like to choose one which particularly resonates with your personality and where you live, making that the name that you personally give to the march full moon.

Full Crow Moon- this is when the the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter.

Full crust moon- this is because the snow obtains a crust due to thawing in the day and then freezing at night, hence the term full crust moon.

Full Sap Moon- this is the time for tapping maple strees to obtain maple syrup from them. It is also called the maple sugar moon for the same reason.

Lenten Moon- early settlers in America name this moon the Lenten moon as the last full moon of winter.

Worm room- as the earth begins to un-freeze and spring begins, the earthworms come to the surface. Thus this moon was termed the worm moon.

  1. each moon has meaning to me and holds strong feeling, the Full crust moon brings both sadness and joy, the crust means the wolves can have easy access to the running deer, good for the wolves but sad for the deer, cycle of life, thnak you for visiting today
