Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. The spring rains will come again. Sarah Ban Breathnach.
Very uplifting words from the wonderful Sarah Ban Breathnach. She is the author of the book 'Simple Abundunce', helping you to always look on the bright side. Ironically after writing that book Sarah Ban Brethnach underwent a lot more hardship herself and faced financial ruin at the age of 61 after a lot of very poor business decisions. She writes about it in her book 'Peace and Plenty', and shows us that there is always a way out of the darkness however dark that path might look at the time. Just because yesterday was a bad day it does not mean that tomorrow will be.
Abundant blessings in all areas of your life, AstarteAlison

New Moon Affirmation. On accepting the challenges ahead of us in life and practicing Gratitude
We have a new moon today and with it comes an apology from me for not posting in ages. Too much going on I won't bore you with but hopefully life will get on bit more of an even keel now.
So we have a new moon and with it always the hope of new beginnings, fresh eyes on the world, new ways of thinking, amazing opportunities and challenges to be faced. It is an exciting time in the lunar month I always find, as well as sometimes for some an unsettling on, coupled with the time of the full moon I often think this is the most turbulent time, it is how we use this time to our advantage that is the key here really. I have to admit I often do struggle at these times as I do suffer from migraines at the time of the new moon and full moon but try to push through. This is a time of challenge, we all have our challenges to face, the key is how we deal with these. Practicing mindfulness and gratitude are great ways of doing this. Concentrating on the here and now and being grateful for what you have right now, the little things, is a great way to take your mind away from the worry of any larger issues that may be causing you pain.
What plans do you have for this new moon, do you have any projects you would like to get started on? I plan to book my craft fairs and festivals for the summer over the next few days so that is something to look forward to.
New moon blessings to you,
Alison

March Full Moon, a wonderful time to increase your psychic energy
We have a full moon at the moment, the full moon in March is often called the full Crow moon as the cawing of the crows herald the coming of spring.
Other names for the March full moon are Lenten Moon and Full Sap Moon.
The Full Moon brings a time of increased energy for many of us. You may find that you are more restless than usual or have a burst of activity and find yourself completing unfinished jobs. It is also a time for heightened psychic energy. You can enhance that energy with a crystal such as amethyst.

As we look to the New Year, Hold on to what is good. Inspirational New Year Quote 2015
As we look to the New Year, Hold on to what is good, Let go of what is bad. It really is that simple. Mandy Hale.
New Year Blessings to you all, hope that 2015 brings you a year full of health and happiness. This is wonderful advice from Mandy Hale. The New Year is a good time for looking at what we do and don't need in our lives. I'm not one for a big new year's resolution list but it can be a good time to just take a bit of time to reassess and look at what is working and what is not. Make a few changes, make a new years resolution list if that is what works for you but only if you know it is a realistic one that you can stick to. Keep the good and let go of the bad and look forward to a wonderful 2015 full of bliss and all that you deserve.
Much love and rainbow hugs, Alison xxxx ☽✪☾

Practising mindfulness during the Leonids meteor shower
Tonight I will be practising mindfulness watching the Leonids
meteor shower in my back garden under a warm blanket!
The Leonids meteors can be seen at their
peak around the 16th to the 18th November. They are one
of the most impressive showers to observe, with around 40 meteors per hour at
their peak. This year only a
modest 10-15 have been predicted however. The shower itself has a cyclical peak
year every 33 years where hundreds of meteors can be seen each year, the last
of these was in 2001, lets look forward to 2034 then! Our crescent waning moon is at 25% of her
brightness at the moment so that should make for fairly good viewing of this
impressive meteor shower.
In order to locate the Leonids, look in the
direction of the constellation Leo, the best time is just after midnight. The
brightest object in the sky right now, the planet Jupiter is also near the
radiant point which should make it easier to locate where the meteors will be
originating.
Here are some viewing tips from
earthsky.org
“Here’s
another tip regarding the radiant point. As darkness falls in mid-November, the
radiant point of the shower is below your horizon, as seen from all parts of
Earth. As the Earth turns, the constellation Leo the Lion – carrying the meteor
shower radiant point – will rise over your eastern horizon. Expect to see the
constellation Leo in the east around midnight. That’s why the Leonids begin to
pick up steam after the midnight hour!
Just
remember, you don’t have to locate a meteor shower radiant to watch the meteor
shower.
But if the
radiant isn’t in the sky, you won’t see as many meteors. That means you
should watch the Leonid shower tonight, from late evening (November 17) until
dawn (November 18).
As a
general rule, the higher the meteor shower radiant climbs in your sky, the more
meteors that you’re likely to see. The radiant for the Leonids is highest up
during the dark hour before dawn, offering, perhaps, 10-15 meteors per hour.
The moon may marginally interfere with the show, but not enough to worry about.
You should see at least a sprinkling meteors, if you watch for an hour or so.
What else
can you see on the night of the 2014 Leonids peak? The radiant for the Leonids
is near the star Algieba in Leo. This is not Leo the Lion’s brightest star.
That distinction goes to Leo’s star Regulus.
Watch for both of these stars.
![]() |
| accuweather.com |
Both
Algieba and Regulus belong to a noticeable pattern on the sky’s dome, in the
shape of a backwards question mark. This pattern is called “the Sickle.” The
paths of Leonid meteors can be traced backwards to the Sickle pattern, which is
a famous asterism – or noticeable star pattern – within the constellation Leo.”
Watching meteors fly through our night sky can be an intensely spiritual
experience. The wonder of a shooting star is something that stirs a deep
emotion within us. Spending an hour or two watching a shower is a wonderful way
of really practicing a meditative mindfulness, try to really concentrate on the
night sky and empty your mind of all other thoughts. Become completely absorbed
in what is happening in the heavens above you and allow yourself to be almost
transported to that other plane as if you yourself were in amongst the shooting
stars. As you still your mind you will feel it is just you and the night sky and it is a wonderful feeling. Make sure you wrap up warm though and enjoy your wonderful mindful meteors!
Wishing on a shooting star! Blessings, Alison xxx

"You are emerging from the cocoon of your former self. Marianne Williamson Positive Inspirational Quote
"You are emerging from the cocoon of your former self. There are no limits to the extent of the transformation that's possible for you" Marianne Williamson
This is a wonderful and truly inspiring quote by the fabulous Marianne Williamson. She teaches us that it is always possible to change, change is within us and it is never too late to do so, we just need the courage to take those initial steps towards transformation, to shrug off the chains that may be holding us back and move forward towards our dreams. Whatever the terminology we use, the Lightening Process, NLP, mindfulness, all of these are designed to bring about the change from within but first we need to want to change. Are you ready for change, are you ready to take that first step?
Marianne Williamson is also author of the book
In this lovely book Marianne talks about change and how we should embrace it. Our lives should be flexible and we are encouraged to find our own path that is truly right for us.
"Marianne Williamson delves deeply into the rule of change and transition in our lives in this inspirational book, reflecting on the paradoxes that inevitably pervade our experience as she helps us find our way. Williamson examines the paradox of what we gather on the path of life, as our most difficult times sometimes bring about the most wisdom. She then investigates our inherent resistance to change and our recklessness around it. Finally, she focuses at length on the paradox of existence – being firmly rooted yet flexible in our lives.

The Gift of Change also examines the roles of openness and letting go, grieving and forgiveness, and love and fear. Marianne Williamson delivers hope and healing as she brings us to a place where we can truly live in the freedom of love." Amazon.co.uk

My photos in Spirit and Destiny Magazine. Article on Spirit Rescue, helping a spirit cross over.
Very excited that my photographs have been published in this month's Spirit and Destiny Magazine! For those of my lovely readers in the US and anywhere else not in the UK this is a lovely magazine brimming with lots of info on all things Spiritual: Pagan, angels, chakra healing, crystal healing, horoscopes, psychic, mediumship, you name it they cover it basically.
Anyway a very good friend of mine Sarah Jewsbury is a very talented Medium who has a column for them and performed a Spirit Rescue. They needed a photographer and she recommended me. Now I am not a professional photographer at all so the whole thing was very nerve wrecking but enjoyable at the same time! I felt very privileged to be a part of this wonderful process and to work with such lovely people. To be featured in the wonderful Spirit and Destiny is a great honour and to see my photographs in print is very exciting! It was a very interesting story about this spirit Catherine who had attached herself to this house and to the client due to the fact that she couldn't move on so Sarah performed the rescue to help her do so, to cross over. She did this with the help of a spirit guide. You can read the whole story in the magazine which is just out now. If you would like to find out more about spirit rescue I'm sure Sarah would be happy to talk to you.
Bright October blessings to you,

Supermoon in Aquarius August 10th 2014 and Perseid Meteor Shower. Feel the amazing energy.
This August we are blessed with the
brightest Supermoon of 2014.
August’s supermoon will reach her fullness at 1.10pm CDT 18 10 UT on
August 10th 2014. She
will have reached her closest point to earth just a few minutes earlier at
12.44 CDT. The fact that these two phenomena co-incide means that this
supermoon will be a particularly spectacuar event this August. At this point of
perigree she will be just 221,765 miles away from earth, our supermoon won’t be
as close as this again until September 2015.
We have three supermoons this year, the
first was in July, did any of you see it? I didn’t manage it as it was cloudy
here! The third supermoon will be in September. August’s supermoon will be the
most spectacular though, being closest to our earth of the three so will surely
prove to be an event not to be missed. Supermoon’s are on average 14% larger
and 30% brighter but I can’t find a statistic of how much brighter this August
moon will be, she sure will however be a sight not to be missed!
The best time to view our wonderful moon
will be just as she rises which will be just after sunset on Sunday. The moon on the horizon always seems to
look larger than when she is is high in the sky, this is because of what is
known as the ‘Ponzo Illusion’
“Most supermoons appear
larger than they really are because of what's called the "Ponzo
Illusion." First put forth in 1913 by Italian psychologist Mario Ponzo, it
holds that the human mind judges the size of an object based on its background.
Most people perceive the horizon as
being farther away than the point straight above their heads. "When the
moon is on the horizon, your brain thinks it’s far away, much farther than when
it’s overhead," writes Phil Plait in his Bad Astronomy blog.
"So the Ponzo Illusion kicks in: Your brain sees the moon as being huge,
and it looks like you could fall into it." http://www.al.com
August’s Supermoon also coincides
with the Perseids meteor shower, her super brightness will mean that the
Perseids may be a little harder to view this year. There will be a lot of
energy however happening in the skies above us. This will be quite a turbulent
and power fuelled time for all of us!
This Supermoon will be in Aquarius.
Although the time of the full moon will be a turbulent one it will bring about
a breaking down of barriers and a releasing of any pent up emotion that needs
to be let go of. Aquarius is an air sign known for shattering perceptions and
breaking rules. You will emerge feeling cleansed and refreshed. Let go of all
that you do not need, break down those walls, you will feel so much better for it.
The August Supermoon is also the
Lunar Lammas falling midway between the summer and Autumn Equinoxes. Lammas or Lughnasadh is a
celebration of the first harvest, of giving thanks for the fruits of our labour
and looking forward to the months ahead.
Our supermoon this August has many
names given to it, it has been called the Grain Moon, Mating Moon, Chokeberry
Moon, Summertime Moon, Corn Moon , Moon when Cherries Turn Black and the Barley
Moon.
One interesting name is the Dog
Day’s moon which refers to the hot days of the late summer in the northern
hemisphere that occur in late July and August. The Old Farmer’s Almanac lists
the traditional period of the Dog days as the 40 days beginning July 3rd
and ending august 11th.
The name Dog Days was believed to originate from the ancient Romans and
Greeks who named these days after the star Sirius, the Dog Star, brightest star
in the sky. The Dog Days originally were the days when Sirius rose just before
or at the same time as sunrise, this was known as a heliacal rising.
Enjoy this Aquarius Supermoon. Pass through this time of turbulence and emerge refreshed at the other end. Hopefully you will have caught a glimpse of some of the wonderful Perseid meteors to light your path along the way!

Perseid Meteor Shower Supermoon August 2014
The Perseid meteor shower is happening now with the peak viewing night on the 12 th August 2014. Meteors from the Perseid shower may be visible right until 22nd August so you will have plenty of time to try and spot a meteor or two. The nearly full moon will present a bit of a problem this year throwing out a lot of light thus hiding a lot of the meteors in her glare but you should still be able to spot some fabulous meteors. In addition this full moon is a supermoon thus her light will shine even more brightly to obscure some of those meteors. The best thing that you can do is get as far away as you can from urban light, lie down on a blanket and enjoy the show, even if you don't see many meteors you can still enjoy being out in the darkness and enjoy the strength and energy emanating from our August supermoon
The perseids are named because they radiate from the Perseus constellation. The best time to observe them is after midnight, if you look into the sky towards the north east at this time hopefully you will see a few. The Perseids produce up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak so you should have a good chance of spotting a few.
In Greek mythology Perseus was the son of Zeus who married Andromeda. It is these two characters plus several others from the mythology that make up the constellation of Perseus.
Meteor showers have always held a spiritual significance and have been held in awe over time. They were at times thought to be signs of luck or signs that the gods were angry. Not knowing the scientific reasons for why these meteors were occurring you can understand that it was easy to give a spiritual significance to these occurrences. More can be found on this subject here. Spiritual significance meteor showers
This August Perseid meteor shower is bound to be a very spiritual one combined with a wonderful super moon. Be sure to try and take some time for some wonderful super moon/ perseids viewing. Lie back, relax, connect with the wonderful wild elements of nature and feel at one with the universe, there is nothing like that feeling.
Blessings to you, Alison

Supermoon times 2014 July August September. Supermoon meditation. What is a Supermoon? How will the Supermoon affect me?
What are the times for the next Supermoon?
I just thought I would do a very quick post as we have woken up to very rainy weather here in England and it looks as though it is set in throughout tomorrow too. So just to remind you that the next Supermoon in August is going to be closer than Saturday's and then we still have one to follow in September. I just thought I would draw up a quick table to remind ourselves of the times of the full super moon for July August and September.
What is the Supermoon time July 2014 for my time zone?
Enclosed is the Supermoon times for various timezones around the world
I've included some useful links to previous posts I've written for explanations about general Supermoon information.
Why do Supermoons Occur?
What is a Supermoon?
Can I still enjoy the super moon if it is cloudy?
Remember the moon stays approximately full for about three days so although she reaches fullness about midday tomorrow, Saturday we still have quite a while to enjoy her fullness even if there are cloudy skies on Saturday night. Even if there are cloudy skies and we cannot see her we can still feel the amazing energy.
How close is the July Super Moon?
Does the Supermoon really look bigger?
Why does the supermoon affect me?
How will the supermoon affect me?
The Moon has been shown to affect us in various ways. One study has looked in depth into how the moon affects our sleep. The study was conducted at Basel university in Switzerland and looked at how the full moon affects the quality and quantity of the sleep we get at the time of the full moon. At the time of the Supermoon these effects will be heightened because our moon is nearer to us and therefore if you are affected you will feel these affects to a greater extent. You can read more about the study here How does the Supermoon affect my sleep
Supermoon Water
I have often made some wonderful moon water on fabulous stormy nights. It has been filled with incredible moon energy even though the light of the moon hasn't been able to shine on it, her energy has been all around and has been absorbed by the water. I have used the water made on nights like that for situations that I feel really need that boost of stormy strong energy!

Supermoon Meditation
So if you can't see the super moon just stand somewhere where you can feel the direction her rays will be coming from, preferably bare footed on the earth. Imagine her wonderful super moon energy beaming down on you and filling you with that wonderful silvery light. Your feel are rooted deep into the ground and your crown chakra is open to receiving her amazing love. Stand meditating in the darkness of the night for as long as you need to. Remember that feeling and draw upon it as often as you need to at times during the month when you feel under stress or pressure. Remember the feeling of your feet firmly rooted to the ground whilst your spirit soars as high as it wants to. It is a feeling you can always come back to, it is always there when you need it.
July Capricorn Supermoon
Enjoy the amazing super moon energy that is building at the moment. How is it affecting you? Personally I do struggle with it a little, the moon energy always gives me a migraine and that is building at the moment but trying to rise above it!

Our pets often teach us the wonder of unconditional love. Gratitude pets quote.
Our pets often teach us the wonder of unconditional love. Often our best friends in the whole world our cats, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, and rabbits give us so much love and so much to give gratitude for. They are there at the end of a hard day to just listen and be there for us, always happy to see us.

“Get your dreams in line and then just shine, design, refine ‘til they come true.” Inspirational Quote Dolly Parton
“Get your dreams in line and then just shine, design, refine ‘til they come true.” Dolly Parton
I thought I would give you this quote today after Dolly's amazing performance on the stage at the Glasontonbury festival this year. At the fabulous age of 68 she drew the biggest crowd on the Glastonbury 2014 stage, a wonderful feat. She demonstrates such a zest for life and down to earth fun that you can't help but be caught up with her enthusiasm. She teaches us that we can follow our bliss! I love this quote, she shows us to go for our dreams, they may need refining along the way but we can still reach our end goal if we reach hard enough for it.
"You don’t need to have it all figured out, just start where you are. What is it that excites you most right now? Take action. The more you pursue what you love, the more opportunities will come your way. They may not be what you expected — they may be even bigger and better than you imagined! But go ahead and get started. Get to livin’ because life is your canvas, cowgirl."http://mindbodyspiritofacowgirl.com

"One of the most spiritual things you can do is embrace your humanity. Connect with those around you today. Gratitude quote Steve Maraboli
"One of the most spiritual things you can do is embrace your humanity. Connect with those around you today. Say 'I love you', 'I'm Sorry', 'I appreciate you', 'I'm proud of you' whatever you are feeling. Send random texts, write a cute note, embrace your truth and share it..cause a smile today for someone else and give plenty of hugs"
Another wonderful quote from the amazing Steve Maraboli. I love his words he speaks such simple truths that we all know in our hearts yet sometimes forget to follow. This is an easy one to do, such a simple thing to tell someone you love them, send a text, write a note, leave a post it on the fridge or a note in a lunch box. Practice random kindness! It is simple and easy to do yet you will make that person's day. And hugging, you cannot underestimate the power of a hug. It has been scientifically been proven to increase seretonin and decrease the signs of ageing apparently so hug as many times as you can throughout the day! Connecting with others in this way will remind you of your own gratitude for their presence in your life, reminding you of the way their lives enrich your life. We are all part of this wonderful web of life and can embrace it with all our hearts.
Rainbow hugs, AstarteAlison

The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature. Joseph Campbell.
The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature. Joseph Campbell.
Fabulous quote from the wonderful writer Joseph Campbell. The lovely photography is by Denis Savoie Photography.
It is important as we go through life that we are working with Mother Nature not against her. It is all too easy in the busy lives we lead to forget the importance that nature has to play in all our lives, our happiness and our spiritual development.

It is important as we go through life that we are working with Mother Nature not against her. It is all too easy in the busy lives we lead to forget the importance that nature has to play in all our lives, our happiness and our spiritual development.
"Joseph Campbell was the world s greatest authority on myth, his monumental four-volume The Masks of God is a definitive work on the subject, and in Myths to Live By he explores how these enduring myths still influence our daily lives and can provide personal meaning in our lives. Myths are a way of explaining the cosmos, the origin of life and Man s relationship with their environment; they play a cohesive role in society. Joseph Campbell analyses myth in psychoanalytic terms to reveal their essential qualities and to demonstrate how they continue to reflect human needs, providing reassurance even in today s world. Ranging from Zen koans and Indian aesthetics to walking on the moon, Joseph Campbell explores how myth and religion follow the same archetypes, which are not exclusive to any single race, religion or region. Campbell believed that all religion is a search for the same transcendent and fundamental spiritual truths. He shows how we must recognise the common denominators between differing myths and faiths and allow this knowledge to fulfil human potential everywhere."

Maypole Dancing and Fire leaping. Glastonbury Beltane May 2014
So we had a wonderful time again for Beltane in Glastonbury 2014. The rain came down for a part of the day but that did not deter the determined folk in their mission to bring in the May!
We started our celebrations on May eve with a beautiful ceremony at the Glastonbury Goddess temple. Unfortunately we had forgotten how incredibly popular this ceremony has become so we didn't arrive early enough and the temple was already full! Such was the amazing energy though that even sitting on a step just outside you could feel the love emanating from the building. We then went on to the mapole dance and fire jumping outside the temple.
The next morning the alarm went off at 4am and we made it up to the top of Glastonbury Tor. There we were treated to a wonderful ceremony by Rollo Maughfling, the Archdruid of Glastonbury and Stonehenge
No sunrise to be seen today as it was a misty start but very atmospheric. We then went down to the Chalice Well gardens for the ceremony and jumping of the fire accompanied by beautiful singing and drumming from Jana Runallis and her friends.
The day then went on to entertainment in the town square which was lovely but the rain came down at that point so we did seek shelter for a while! However up at Bushey Coombe for the ceremony the sun came out and blessed us with her brilliance, it was a beautiful start to the summer, winter really has gone away and summer is here to stay.
During the ceremony, the Arch Druid of Glastonbury was re-named the Arch Druid of Avalon, such a fitting title for this beautiful land. If any of you has the chance to visit this beautiful place do go, it has such amazing energy. I now feel my spiritual battery has been re-charged a little, Beltane in Avalon is a wonderful experience and I feel very privileged to be able to be a part of it.

"Dance when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off." Positive affirmation. Rumi
"Dance when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you're perfectly free" Rumi.
Rumi teaches us the importance of being in touch with your inner soul. Sometimes when life is tough, something as simple as dancing can lift you from the depths of sadness. A simple act like dancing may make you start to feel better, at first you may only be pretending to feel better, putting on a show perhaps for those around you, but eventually you may start to feel better deep within you.
Rumi's book Rumi's Little Book Of Life: The Garden of the Soul, the Heart, and the Spirit
May sparkly dancing feet lift you to towards all your dreams, blessings, Alison
