Moon times, phases and names for June 2015

I am looking forward to the power of the full moon shortly, can you feel the energy increasing? Here are the moon phases for June 2015 for you so that you can plan your month accordingly. Living life within the phases of the moon allows your life to flow with much greater eases. As the moon wanes during the first week in June try to spend the time withdrawing a little, contemplating more and perhaps de cluttering your life a little. At the new moon on the 18th June this is a perfect time to start new projects and as the moon waxes during the second half of June you may find you have more energy so use that energy to push projects forward, connect with friends and family and be creative.

This moon in June was popularly called the Strawberry Moon or Rose Moon because of the time of the year. This full moon was seen as very spiritual by Buddhists as it was the full moon when Buddha died and received enlightenment. Bright Moon,  Seed Moon and Planting Moon are other popular names. Our ancestors lived their lives a lot more in tune with the moon and we have much to learn from their cultures.

New Moon blessings for the 30th January super moon

On 30th January we are blessed with a second new moon. As it is the second new moon or sometimes referred to as dark moon in the month it is called a black moon. This particular new moon is a supermoon being very close to our earth and therefore we can benefit from it’s effects more deeply

As I explained in my previous post this is a supermoon which means it is closer to our earth and therefore we can benefit from it’s effects more deeply. We may not be able to see this new moon but we can feel her energy and sense the building sense of fulfilment as she grows from new moon through to crescent and on to full moon.  This new moon is a wonderful time to start projects and changes that may last throughout the whole of 2014. Your whole life is ahead of you, embrace the sense of change in the air and the opportunities that this super new moon will bring.

New moon blessings to you, Alison xxx

Business Planning in tune with the moon. Grow your business by following the cycles of the moon.

Business Planning in tune with the moon.

Have you ever thought about how you could make your business more efficient by following the moon’s phases? As our moon moves through her cycles of waxing and waning the changes in energy that we feel may be applied to all walks of life. We often read about how we should be starting new projects in the new moon and cleansing our lives of clutter during the waning moon. However applying these principles to the business world can be quite a challenge!

Running a business is often quite a tight operation. We often cannot decide that we would like to do filing one day just because the moon is right for us to do it on that day. However with a little forward thinking if we are able to manipulate schedules just a little you may be surprised at the results that you obtain. Most well run businesses have an annual and monthly business plan. We may then introduce within that monthly plan the times when it is best to surge ahead with growth, i.e. at the time of the waxing moon vs. the times when it is best to be getting on with the quieter parts of the business, i.e. at the time of the waning moon.

The new moon marks the beginning of the moon’s cycle. This should be the beginning of any new ideas for your business. This is the time to have strategy meetings, call together different departments to have brain storming ideas, you will find everyone is much more creative at this time of the new moon and fabulous ideas and visions for the future may be sown now. Any planning or visionary ideas should be undertaken at the new moon, including financial planning of any sort.

Ideas put forward during the new moon may then be expanded on during the phases of the waxing moon, particularly during the waxing crescent moon and the first quarter moon when the new moon energy is still recent.  Projects will gain momentum and gather speed until you see them reach fruition as we move from the waxing gibbous moon into the full moon. The waxing moon phase is all about action in the business world, it is about putting yourself out there, full throttle. Selling, putting together advertising campaigns, buying materials, recruiting new staff, holding conferences, finding new premises, writing new blog posts and articles, creating new programs, public relations, collaborations with other ventures, marketing strategies, all these activities should be done when the moon is waxing.

When the moon reaches her full moon phase she is at her peak. This phase only lasts three days but it is a very intense time that you should be prepared for. Things may be a bit fraught but also filled with a highly charged energy. Avoid making big or complicated decisions at this crucial time but instead use the charged energy to complete any tasks that need finishing.

The moon begins to wane after her big crescendo. This is the time to pull back a little and look to internal affairs of your business. Ensure that all your bookkeeping, tax and financial affairs are in order. If tax returns are due the waning moon is the time to complete them.  If any staff dismissals are to be made now is the best time to do it to avoid too much negativity. Maintenance of the building you are in should be looked at now and any jobs attended to. Send out invoices, file and organize, carry out market research, and clear your desk of clutter: you will feel much better for it and be much more productive during the new moon! Use the waning crescent moon phase to start to prepare for the new moon and the beginning of a new cycle, what will your intentions be for the coming month?

Of course this can only be a guideline. If you are in the business of selling cars you are going to be pushing hard to sell cars all month long. This just gives you a way of looking at your overall business, it is possible with a little forethought to change some of the ways in which you complete tasks. You will find that you achieve better results and experience less stress when you fine tune your daily routines and activities to the phases of the moon. Not only will your business run more efficiently and stress free but you will GROW your business by following this simple plan! Worth having a try then isn’t it?

Happy business planning, wishing you lots of success, Alison xxx

Phases of the Moon September 2013- living a month in tune with the moon

Phases of the Moon September 2013- living a month in tune with the moon

The revolution of the Moon around the Earth makes the Moon appear as if it is changing shape in the sky. This is caused by the different angles from which we see the bright part of the Moon's surface. These are called phases of the Moon. Of course, the Moon doesn't generate any light itself; it just reflects the light of the Sun. The Moon passes through four major shapes during a cycle that repeats itself every 29.5 days.  We know that these phases of the moon we call them waxing and waning have a profound affect on us and on all life on earth therefore it is useful to know which phase our moon is at during the month.

So September starts off for us with a waning moon, a time for inward reflection, perhaps a last minute clearout of a few kitchen cupboards you have been meaning to do!

We then have a new moon on Thu 5 Sep
12.37 BST. This new moon in September would be a perfect time for the start of a new project. The new moon is followed by a flourishing time of growth, as the moon grows in fullness so do our ideas. September is a time of the harvest, there is richness everywhere as the ground swells in fertility, let this lend fertility to your ideas and passions as you push forward with new ideas and projects. Perhaps you have a fence you have been meaning to fix in the garden or a new play area you were going to build for your children?

The Full moon in September is also known as the Harvest Moon or the Barley Moon. The harvesters would gain extra time in the fields by the light of the harvest moon. This is a time of organizing and preparing for the coming months. Perhaps you would like to use this time to decide what you would like to start to prepare for.

Three days after the full moon  our moon starts to wane again. Time to clear away all the debris from the play area you built!

Enjoy the waxing and waning of the moon cycles in September 2013. You will find that by living your life in tune with these natural rhythms life runs a lot more smoothly, you and your family are happier, less stressed and a lot more seems to get accomlished. Don't just take my word for it however, try it for a month and let me know if it works for you!

Moon Phases for August 2013. How to plan your life as the moon waxes and wanes.

Moon Phases for August 2013 for you. Here are the moon phases for next month so that you can plan your month ahead and follow nature's ebb and flow.

August starts off with a waning moon so a last chance to do a bit of clearing out and tidying up around the house and garden maybe before the new moon on 6th/7th August. The exact date varies depending which time zone you are in. The August waxing moon phase then gives you an ideal time to perhaps get a new project off the ground. Whilst we are still enjoying the last month of summer perhaps you have a project you would like to complete in the garden before the nights start drawing in or it starts to get just a bit colder. I always feel I have a bit more energy when the nights are lighter so make the most of the increased daylight coupled with the moon's waxing strength this August.

August 20th/21st sees the full moon when we can bask in her glory and enjoy the powerful energy she will bring for a few days. She will rise shortly after sunset on 20th August and will be visible in the sky for the whole of the night. Sunset on 20th August is around 20 10 BST. Following the full moon phase she will begin to wane throughout the rest of August. We can use that time for inward reflection, for mediation, rest and recuperation in readiness for the next waxing phase of the moon. We sometimes get some quite hot days at the end of August so it is good to use those hot days in the waning moon to take it easy and rest. Use the time in quieter activities. Often you carry out  a space clearing waning moon exercise that doesn't require a lot of physical activities such as sorting out old photographs or deleting files on your computer. I have been doing quite a lot of that during the hot days that we have been having recently when I need to feel useful but am too hot to do anything too strenuous!

The moon dates for the different moon phases for August 2013 are:
New moon
August 6/7, 2013
First quarter
August 14, 2013
Full moon
August 20/21, 2013
Last quarter
August 28, 2013

I hope you find this useful in planning your month and your activities accordingly.

I hope you enjoy the August moon as she waxes and wanes and that you find yourself waxing and waning alongside her. As always the key is to find ourselves in balance with nature, our lives will become much easier because of this, as we follow the ebb and flow until it becomes second nature to do so.

May the light of the moon always light your way and be in your heart,  blessings, Alison

Waxing Crescent Moon. Hints and tips for you to make the most of this moon phase

Waxing Crescent Moon

The first moon phase after the new moon is the waxing crescent moon.  As our beautiful moon becomes more visible she appears to grow in size until we see a lovely crescent moon shape. This waxing crescent moon rises around mid morning and sets a little after sunset . The best time to see her in the Western sky is in the late afternoon.

This has been termed the ‘sprouting’ phase of the moon. It is the period of time when the ideas that germinated in the new moon phase will start to germinate and develop into properly formed projects. This is a good time to really look at what needs to change in your life. This is the perfect time to really start to put those plans into action so that you may start to see those ideas form and grow and hopefully come to fruition in time for the full moon in a couple of weeks time.  Even if they are longer term plans, now is a perfect time to be thinking about new ideas and changes in your life.  For example if you want to improve your health now is a good time to work on a healthy eating plan or seek out a practitioner  to aid any recovery you are seeking.

As the moon's gravitational pull on the earth affects not only the tides but all water it also pulls up moisture in the soil. Therefore it is good to plant seeds during the waxing cycle but especially just after the new moon during this waxing crescent phase.  During the waxing crescent moon this is a great time to  plant annuals with above the ground yields, especially leafy plants which produce their seed outside the fruit. Some examples of plants that are good to grow at this time of the waxing crescent moon are asparagus, cabbage, celery, endive, and spinach. Roses also do well to be planted during this waxing crescent phase of the moon.  Plant flowers grown for beauty or fragrance in the first quarter of the waxing moon as well as they will perform particularly well now as they blossom in the waxing moon energy. To encourage your lawn to grow it is a good idea to mow during the waxing moon cycle. Remember to water your plants well during the waxing moon phase as they will love all the extra moisture they are able to absorb at this time.  This is really going back to nature and following the signs that nature is giving us but we have all too often lost in our rushed and hurried modern world.

There is lots of useful information available on this website: http://www.almanac.com/
The 2014 Farmers Almanac Calender packed with useful information is now available here
The Old Farmer's Almanac 2014 Everyday Calendar
Another very useful book packed with information is: Moon Time: The Art of Harmony with Nature and Lunar Cycles Moon Time shows:

* The way to a healthy life based on timeless knowledge that we have either forgotten or learned to ignore
* The influence of the moon and other natural rhythms on health and healing
* Healthy nourishment and living in harmony within the cycles of the moon

Just as the moon pulls towards her all the water on our planet so does the water in the cells in our bodies increase. Thus this time of the waxing crescent moon is a brilliant time to think about a care plan to look after your body. Start to think about a plan now when the moon is just in it's waxing crescent phase that you can carry out as the moon continues to wax over the next couple of weeks. Starting a plan now will really mean that you are starting as you mean to go on and you will benefit the most from the swelling energy that we are feeling at the moment from our growing moon.Your body is in absorption mode at this time so think about how you can give it the extra nourishment and moisture that it is craving right now. It is really important to nourish and build up your body when the moon is waxing, and take care over moisturizing your body and hair. Your body will thank you for looking after it at this time of the waxing moon! See my post on giving your body a real waxing moon treat with some home made body butter, create a home spa waxing moon experience!

Enjoy the surge of energy you may start to feel as the moon transforms from a new moon into a visible waxing crescent moon. Begin to work on new ideas and projects you may want to look at but above all take care of yourself and nourish your body and soul. Try and take a little time out for you. Not always easy I know when we all lead busy lives and are perhaps caring for others and it seems our needs are way down the list but it is important to take care of ourselves too so just try and take a little time to put yourself on the agenda too. Make yourself part of the plan for this waxing moon phase and give yourself a little love, care and attention.

Bright moon blessings and sparkles to you,

Alison xxx
